The Weir family is navigating pediatric cancer while raising two very young children. When their son Ashton was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), life quickly became centered around treatment schedules, travel, and making ends meet during an already demanding stage of parenthood.

Ashton’s diagnosis meant frequent trips to SickKids and satellite treatment centres, adding time, travel, and logistical stress to everyday life. While managing his care, the family also had to navigate reduced work hours, rising household costs, and the financial pressure that comes when income becomes unpredictable.

With rent, insurance, groceries, and basic necessities to cover, there was little room left for anything else. The family relied on community support to help with food and essentials, all while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for both children. As the winter months and holidays approached, even basics like warm clothing and seasonal necessities became sources of concern.

Through it all, the Weir family remained focused on what mattered most: keeping their children safe, supported, and together. Support from the Tyler Robinson Foundation helped ease the burden of non-medical expenses, offering relief during a time when the family was stretched in every direction.

Ashton’s journey is ongoing, but his family continues to face each day with resilience, love, and a determination to provide stability for their children, even in the midst of uncertainty.
